IT'S BEEN A WONDERFUL YEAR!!!!

We must say the year has really sped by. Not sure where the time has gone. We started with a wonderful grand opening January 17, 2009 with the wonderful Peavine Pickers and it just seemed to be a whirlwind of activity since. We had 2 ATV rides in 2009 and both were a lot of fun! We had a great baseball game with Belmont and they now want revenge. We had horseshoe tournaments that were a blast. Our Halloween Party was fun and the costumes were great. For Thanksgiving we put on a great dinner and served about 20 people. What a nice Thanksgiving it was.
Now it is time for Santa so John and I went out to get a tree to put up in the bar. I wanted a good sized full tree. We didn't want to take up the dance floor area with a tree so the room with the pool table was the place. We had to put a tarp around it and tie it up and it took 4 guys to get it into the building.
What do you think? Good sized, full tree, huh?

Now we are about to start a new year. We will be ending 2009 with a New Year's Eve party with lots of food and beverage to ring out the old and bring in the new. Everyone is invited to help us celebrate the close of our 1st year in the bar and motel.
Saturday, January 2, 2010 will be the first winter ATV ride. Grab your heavy coat and ear muffs because we are going to have a "cool" ride indeed. There will be a couple warming stations (those snowmobile riders have nothing on us) where you can warm yourself at a fire and have  hot buttered rum to help the warming process. After the ride we'll have a steak dinner and then, of course, we'll have a little party. There will be drawings for some cool atv stuff too. $10.00 gets you a place in the ride and dinner. We're asking that you call us to get on our list so we know how many to plan for. Check back in for more pictures of the actual road we'll be riding. See if you can recognize where we'll be riding.....
The Manhattan bowling leage is starting January 9, 2010. We are still looking for more people to participate. Other nights are also available if anyone is looking to have a league of their own. Just like the real bowling alleys.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

NEW WINTER HOURS

We have decided to change our hours for the winter. With winter coming there aren't as many people out to stop in during the day like we have in the summer. With that in mind, our hours for the winter are:

Monday through Friday   2:00 pm till ?????
Saturday and Sunday     12:00 till  ?????
If we have no customers,  we'll close at 7:00 pm.

If you are wanting to come in prior to our opening, just call us at home and we'll probably open early for you. If you are planning to come out and are worried we'll be closed, call us before coming so we can stay open for you.

For those with motel reservations, call us to make arrangements for checking in or checking out.
Our home number is 775-487-2321.

Thanks

HALLOWEEN PARTY

I'm a little late getting these pictures up but that's because we made a quick trip to Idaho to pick up our new Ranger. We go to Pocatello because you don't get treated better anywhere than at Butterfield Epxress. The new Ranger is wonderful!!!
Anyway, we had a great party for Halloween. Lots of good food, with Mexican as our theme for the occasion. Green Chili, enchiladas, dips, chips, Carne Asada. It was wonderful!!! Lots of good drink....... Dawn Bombs were flowing like crazy for some. For those that don't know, our very own Dawn, made up the "Dawn Bomb" and it is quite a popular drink around the Manhattan Bar. As always we had a great time with no problems.

Jeronimo & his Princess -                                                         Tony, not Willy......Sorry

Tell me Adam and Eve didn't look like this. Really, what a site they must have been.
The pirate, Catholic school girl and Eve. I'm thinking there could be trouble.
Dawn and Sandy were great!

Tom & Lesa as the Cleavors. If you knew them you would know that just isn't right!

MANHATTAN BEATS BELMONT

Manhattan pulls off 20-17 win after a slow start by the Manhattan team. We had the most wonderful time playing this game!!! Everyone had a great time, players and spectators alike! We're still talking about how what a great day it was! We had a few injuries, some minor, one major but all did live through the experience. After the game we had chili & brats a few drinks and relived the game again. Who says we can't have fun in the rural areas.
We are already planning our next year's game. We should have even more people there to watch and laugh at us "old folks" playing games.

This is the Manhattan team. Aren't we a good looking bunch?

This is the Belmont team. Not nearly as cute as we are!

BELMONT VS MANHATTAN BASEBALL

We have been challenged by Belmont to a baseball game Saturday Sept. 26, 2009 at 1:00 pm What great fun this will be for players and spectators alike!!!  Players must be residents age 50 and older. (I'm thinking oxygen should be standing by just in case)
It is the day of our chili cook-off so after the game there will be chili to sample and we'll be grilling up something too.
After all this, you better stay for a night of dancing or maybe some bowling on the Wii, or both! It just doesn't get any better than this.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL IS BACK AT THE MANHATTAN BAR!!!

Monday night football at the Manhattan Bar. No better way to spend the evening than with friends at the bar. We have football pools going each week. There is food provided, and it is always lots of fun! Keep us in mind for all your Monday Night Football!

What a great time!

What a great time my husband and I had in Big Smoky Valley the weekend of August 28-30. We drove up for the Annual Smoky Valley Days celebration, and to attend the concert on Saturday night with Little Texas and Amy Scruggs.
The concert was awesome – but even better was when we returned to the Manhattan Bar and Motel to spend the night, we ran into Little Texas again, because they were also staying in the motel!

These guys were so nice and so much fun. We sat on the porch at the bar and shared drinks and stories before it was time for them to head to their rooms.
As always, everything at the bar was great and we had a weekend we will remember for many years to come.

I have included a few pictures from the concert and from the bar after the concert.
Thanks John and Mary!
